Charles-Henri Génot a Parisian pharmacist founded the estate in 1974 with his wife Marie.
Starting their first plot in some old stables in Mercurey , Charles started exploring the terroir and purchasing parcels all along the Cote d’Or. To date the estate has grown to 22 hectares of organic vineyards from Chambolle-Musigny to Mercurey spanning 60 Kilometres. It produces 30 appellations, including 3 Grand Crus and 13 Premier Crus. The domain’s philosophy is “maximal work in the vineyard for minimal intervention in the cellar.” This produces grapes of substance and wines of character.
