About this Region
French wine is produced all throughout France and traces its history to the 6th century BC, with many of France's regions dating their wine-making history to Roman times.
Created in 1999, the Domaine is the result of the association of Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve. Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec and started making traditional wines. Everything is natural and biodyamic in the vineyards. The winemaking is precise and accurate, giving us the chance to taste elegant, smooth wines that have an incredible ageing potential. NB Alternate namings have appeared on labels over the years "Cosse-Maisonneuve, Cosse et Maisonneuve, etc.".
