from the winemaker: " 'My father-in-law Elvio kept saying it: Bricco Pernice is and always will be one of the best vineyards of Ravera. --' Valter Fissore
Located in a warm and naturally sheltered area, Bricco Pernice takes its name from the birds that habitually construct their nests here.
The white color of the soil attests to a high amount of limestone interspersed with clay, which distinguishes it from the other areas of the Ravera cru. Two of the three land parcels that make up Bricco Pernice are planted with twenty-five-year-old vines, while the third has an average age of fifty years."
