Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignan, Counoise,Cinsault, Vaccarèse, Terret Noir . "Domaine Gourt de Mautens produces only 800-1,600 cases of wine annually, unfiltered and unfined, with indigenous yeasts only. It was founded by Jerome Bressy in the Rasteau appellation. After the 2009 vintage he abandoned the appellation since some of the indigenous grapes he has in his vineyard like vaccaresse and picardin were banned. The domaine is certified biodynamic and is commited to preserve native varieties and tradional methods. This wine has great aging potential" ...."For many years Jérôme Bressy helped establish the reputation of Rasteau but when the AOC began to limit the varieties permitted in the wines labelled Rasteau, Jérôme decided to leave the appellation and bottle his wines as IGP Vaucluse. Made entirely from estate fruit grown in the village of Rasteau," (eric solomon)

About this Region

A land of stark contrast. North and South; syrah and grenache; plain valleys and impossible hills. Artisan wine makers and industrial wine facilities. Wines for now and wines of time and patience. Fascinating!
